Stackworks

The Stackworks activity performs information management services for parties who wish to build archival collections and have them organized and managed professionally in an online environment. Building on extensive experience in information infrastructure development, CNRI provides the ability to maintain collections over very long time periods, utilizing an approach that is independent of specific hardware and software platforms.

Stackworks will help to locate specific digital objects in a collection regardless of how or where they are stored.  It will arrange to provide access to the necessary tools to manifest and process the information, as well as generate metadata registries to catalog and cross-reference items in the collections.

Initial efforts have been undertaken to move the D-Lib Magazine collection to Stackworks, and similar efforts are underway with various U.S. government agencies.

Organizations and individuals interested in obtaining information regarding Stackworks services and any associated collections that may be publicly accessible are invited to contact CNRI at stackworks@cnri.reston.va.us for further details.
