History

The current version of the Knowbot software, in part developed with support from DARPA, builds upon earlier work on applications of Knowbot software carried out by CNRI in the late 1980s and early 1990s in a research effort supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM). The earlier Knowbot work was based on original ideas by Bob Kahn and Vint Cerf at CNRI in the 1980s. The first implementation of Knowbot software was created by David Ely of CNRI for use by NLM.
